XS650

I built this bratstyle inspired 1980 Yamaha XS650 as part of a his & her's commission with an SR500. The goal of simplicity informed the battery-less PMA charging system and single Mikuni VM34 carburetor tuned to ensure an easy 1st kick start everytime. My signature hand crafted 2-1 stainless exhaust headers capped off with a supertrapp tuned muffler gives it a rowdy thumping exhaust note. LSL wide tracker bars are adorned with minimal Motone controls and 1/4 turn throttle. The KC Hilites LED headlight efficiently brightens the road ahead. A 6 pot Nissin caliper and Master cylinder mated by Venhill’s best SS brake line gives the bike effortless stopping power. The gas tank is an original survivor finished with a root beer metal flake. The seat started with a custom stainless pan that I hand formed neoprene foam hiding a gel insert for those longer rides. Vapor blasted rims and hubs tuned and trued using Buchanan custom stainless spokes.
